Hi Russ,
The best method to install Security Fixes is to visit Windows Update, check
for critical updates and install these:
http://windows update.microsoft.com
If you want alternate methods, you could download the updates manually from
the Windows Update catalog on the same web page.
If you encounter some problems installing a specific update, review the
update log file for the specific update. The log file will be in the
Windows folder and have a name using this scheme: KBxxxxxx.log. where the
'x's represent the KB Article number for the specific update.
Review the log file for indications on why the setup failed:
- file not found
- could not access registry key - access denied
- could not copy file - access denied,
- etc.
