Greeting to all,

Does any body know how to reinstall missing AUDIO CODECS
in system manager. My problems lies that The CD rom
player will not play any audio cd. Does matter what
player I use Real or Media but, Media Player indicates
Error 0xC00d1197. Already tried Microsoft so call fix
Article 834483. Didnt work so it must be an Audio Codecs
Problem.

Need a Expert in Xp for this one!

Here is a link on troubleshooting problems with CDROM's. which references
your problem in #8. It suggest two things to do, but what I would do for
the second step of #8 is to remove your CDROM in Device Manager first, then
click Action, and Scan for hardware changes to re-install. If for some odd
reason that does not work, use the Add/Remove Hardware wizard in Control
Panel.

Good Luck.

According to the following Microsoft Knowledge Base Article,
"you can only reinstall multimedia codecs using the Add/Remove
Hardware wizard". And while I cannot find an article specific to
WinXP, I did verify that that Video Codec is a choice in the
Add/Remove Hardware applet on my WinXP Pro system. So,
you may want to follow the procedure in the following Microsoft
Knowledge Base article. Note: The steps will be slightly different.
For example, the WinXP Add Hardware Wizard will ask if you
have already connected the hardware answer. Just answer Yes.
