The above named folder is under \windows\system32.

Included with it are subfolders numbered \0000 to \0018 and under those is a
subfolder \DriverFiles. Some of the \DriverFiles also have subfolders.

I inspected the various subfolders and \DriverFiles folders and determined
these were all the backups of previously installed updated drivers for the
motherboard's chipset, audio card drivers, video card drivers, monitor
drivers, etc. Some were years old.

Since I am quite sure I am never going to roll-back any of these drivers to
a previous condition can I simply delete all these folders and subfolders?
In total these folders take up over 46Mb of space for no apparent reason.

Is there any literature anywhere that thoroughly explains the whys and
wherefores of these folders?

Thanks

Jerry

Rather than deleting them for good, why don't you burn them to
a CD? A blank CD costs you next to nothing but it might come
in very handy some rainy day!
