Hi,
I'm about to format and partition my hard drive in the hope that this will
overcome it crashing all the time. Lately I've hade the Blue Screen problem
too.
I think I have enough information from this site to do these tasks.
What I would like to be able to do is reinstall the XP service packs without
downloading them again. Is someone able to tell me how to do this? As a
newbe I'm not sure what I'm looking for.

There are several ways of installing service packs:
- By installing a version of WinXP that has the service pack
already on the CD.
- From a service pack CD.
- From a previously downloaded and stored Service Pack file.
- By downloading & installing it from a Microsoft site.

Thanks Pegasus. I have burnt the SP2 folder to a CD. When it comes time to
install it I guess I would copy it to the Windows folder. How do I initiate
the installation?

Why copy it to the Windows folder? Just run it from the CD!
Look for a file with a .exe extension, e.g. WinXPSP2.exe.
