I'm having a problem reinstalling Windows XP
HomeEdition. It tells me that the Product Key is invalid
during the setup phase. Originally the computer was
upgraded using the XP HE Upgrade CD, but I've since lost
the CD. I'm using a new (borrowed) XP HE CD with my own
Product Key. Is it normal that it won't take the old
product key number? Will I have to buy my XP HE all
over again? Please tell me that it's not money down the
drain!

Any insight is most appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

You'll need to use a XP HE Upgrade CD in order to use your
Product Key. Your Product Key won't work with a different
CD version (i.e. Full or OEM).
