I was having blue screen-shut down problems so I thought maybe I should
reinstall Windows. When I did, it changed alot of things on my PC. My
desktop icons that I had before the reinstall are now all gone. Also, if I
go to start, all program files, it will not display the programs that have
been loaded. Also if I go to control panel, add/remove programs, it does not
show any programs listed. If I go to "my computer", "C" drive, "Program
Files", I can see the programs out there, but not on the "add/remove"
programs view.

Is there anyway to get my PC back to where it was prior to my reinstall of
Windows XP?

You goofed...you installed windows in a new folder...
what you should have done was to have performed a repair install.

try again...only this time perform a repair install on your original
installation.

if it works, you may delete your 2nd installation and remove the entry from
boot.ini
