Good evening,

I want to create a GPO, that no User can configure his own Account in
Outlook.
Or that no one can choose the Option Button (TOOLS > OPTIONS)
Now, i need the Registry key to programm an ATM.
Could someone give me a hand, which RegKey I need?
Or is there already an existing ATM which I can download?

Key: HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Setup
Value name: ModifyAccounts
Value type: REG_DWORD
Value data: 1 = Prevent users from modifying accounts through Tools | Options or the Mail applet in Control Panel
0 = Allow users to modify accounts

The administrative template .adm files are available on the Office Resource Kit downloads page (URL varies by version).

Hi Sue,
i have created the Template with the Reg Key, but now the Test User cant
send any Email.
I have added a test account with two users under Outlook XP.
If I want to sent a messsage, i can´t choose the user which i want to sent
and the email stuck in the outbox.
Is there a more specific Key I have to insert into the Template?

Please provide more details. What kind of account is this? What does it mean for it to have two users?

Hi Sue,
I have created a POP Account. We don´t use Exchange. We outsourced our Mail
Accounts. So we can change everything in Outlook, because we use local PST
Files.
I have created an Account named xy and want to test the Template in the
Group Policy.
So I logged in (W2k) with the usser xy and open Outlook. I have also insert
an existing account called (e-mail address removed)
When I click on EXTRA > OPTION > E-Mail SETUP > EMail Account, I get an
error message, that the Administrator have logged this option. So far so
good.
Now I want to send a mail with the (e-mail address removed) account, but I
can´t.
I can´t choose a Mail Account under TOOLS > Send / Receive.
The Send / Receive option is not there. I have checked all Options.
If I wanted to sent an item, it stuck in the Outbox.
I have created a new Profile, but no luck.
Maybe the Key close all options for this account.
I only want to disallow changings in the Mail account.
Hope that I have explain in more detail, and you could give me a hand!

Was the POP account tested and working before you locked down the mail profile? This is what version of Outlook? Have you tried resetting the toolbars with View | Toolbars | Customize? What happens if you press F9 to manually invoke send/receive?

HI Sue,
I found the problem,
what a shame! The pop account was not working before I locked it!
So i configured it and now it is working.
So thank you again for your support! :-)
