On Boot up I am getting a message "Failed to update the
system registry. Please try using regedit" Any ideas
what might be causing this or how to fix it?
 
You need to find the application that's causing this. Click Start, Run and enter MSCONFIG Uncheck applications one at a time, until you find the culprit. Its most likely a permissions issue, where the application cannot update the registry because the user has insufficient privileges.
