Why?

The WinXP registry is not like the Win9x registry, what are you trying to
fix?

I would not recommend using any 3rd party registry cleaner. If you know
enough about the registry to configure the tools so that they don't cause
more damage than good, you know enough about the registry that you don't
need them anyway. Unless you have a specific problem that causes a need to
enter the registry, it is best left alone. Those reg. cleaners have hosed
many machines.

I have an issue with Microsoft Access registry issue and a third party
software. They have asked me to do a registry clean up.

Hi,

There are many of them available, but I have no specific recommendation
other than avoiding them. Make sure that if you use one, that it has an
"undo" feature as these products can damage the system if not used properly.

Try JV16 Power tools. You will like it.

I have had good results with RegSeeker (free) from
http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm

Before using any registry cleaner in Windows XP always repate always
set a new system restore point just prior to doing the cleanup. Also
make sure that you have RegSeeker configured to backup all deleted
items.

If RegSeeker finds more than 100 entries that you remove then you
should run it again, as the second pass will usually find more items
(items that were valid the first time because they referred to an
existing registry item that was removed in the first pass).

Good luck
