I use http://www.ccleaner.com/
It could be spyware thats causing the problem, try also Spybot search and

First job to do, go here.
ActiveX Spyware & Adware Scanning
http://www.spywareinfo.com/xscan.php
This scanner is an ActiveX applet. After a short delay in which your
browser downloads the control file, you will receive a "Warning
Dialogue" requesting permission for the scanner to run. Click "Yes" and
the applet will pop up and scan. You will be alerted if any spyware is
found. When a spyware or malware is found, you will be alerted and
asked if you want to remove it. If no spyware is found, the scanner
will disappear on its own.
If nothing happens, or if you are using a browser other than Internet
Explorer, click here and choose either "Open" or "Run this program from
its current location". Do not choose "Download".

Nice jo you did by reviewing all that apps !. i used a ramdrive
program, that sometimes failed to build a 50Mb drive and setup
a 1,4Mb floppy instead; restoring the registry solved the
problem but only for 1 boot...maybe a conflict with daemon
tools (?). anyway, with a trial version of ART, i saved all the
keys, a huge lot. The registry is why every one should migrate
to unix...

Try running Sys Internals "RegMon" to see all registry activity at
those times.

http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Regmon.html

Top class utility. Can be very useful. But it tracks all registry
movements and this may slow down low-powered machines.

Freeware, no install, no crap of any sort, tiny program. Just
download and run.
