Hi and thanks -
My system had a registry-related crash - I recovered
using the recovery console and a subsequent repair re-
install. I'm up and running, but the registry is awful.
I have nothing with which to replace it. I cannot . . .

access windows update
get Outlook (email) to function at all
re-install certain softwares,
re-istall certain drivers

etc. I appreciate your help.

Hi,

Please check the system for misplaced files.

1. Click Start ->Run.
2. Type sfc /scannow (Note: There is a space between sfc and /scannow)
3. Select the OK button.
4. Follow the prompts throughout the System File Checker process.
5. Reboot the computer when System File Checker completes.

Hope this helps ...... :)
