The registry is a database contains all of the operating system's
"knowledge" of the computer's hardware devices, installed software, the
location of the device drivers, and the computer's configuration. It
cannot contain a virus or any other type of file.

If your anti-virus application has detected a virus, simply follow the
instructions it, or its manufacturer, provides for the removal of the virus.

No offense intended but if you don't know how to access the registry, you
don't want to be deleting items from there to fix a virus problem. You can
really mess things up and it might not work anyway. Let the anti-virus
tools take care of it. Here are some links for how to remove malware.

The registry does NOT contain any virus files, it can only point to
virus files on your pc. Best bet is to kill the virus. Second best bet
is to NOT install the virus in the first place.
