Hello,
i was installing the acrobat reader under windowsxp, when a low power
causes my sys. to restart.
Now, acrobat reader is unusable because i get registry error everytime i
try to start it, or to reinstall it.
It's not possible to uninstall the acrobat.

Seems the problem is caused by a faulty key introduced into the registry
by the acrobat install program.

Every time i try to access to registry and manually remove the key or
with any regcleaner program, the system returns a bsod screen.

What can i do now?

Hi

Could you please post the Stop Code from the BSOD? Which particular
Registry key are you trying to delete? Try a System Restore back to a point
before the problem started.

Hi, i get the bsod if i try to search "acrobat reader" into the
regedit.. so it's difficult to find the key or the keys that generate
the error.
The code is the classic 0x0000051 REGISTRY_ERROR, if you need detailed
error code, i can write down all the text string.

I tried a system restore but the latest date avaible doesn't resolve the
problem..

Hi

Please have a look at the following link to Jim Eshelman's web site - left
hand column(51)

http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm
Thankyou Denny, but i've already read that informations.
I don't have a valid ERD to use and the "last known good" option doesn't
have any good effect on the error.

Do you know if there is an alternate mode to access to registry, to
manually delete all the acrobat reader related keys?

Hi

If you are using a FAT32 file system, you can download the files for an ERD
from www.bootdisk.com

The Registry is manually edited via regedit.exe. I can't see any other way
to access it.

Well, no, my windows xp uses ntfs....
but isnt there a way to make a copy of the entire registry, make
corrections upon this and then importing it and replace the original
registry?
