You have encountered a rare beastie indeed.

Your error code (0x00000056) is named INSTRUCTION_COHERENCY_EXCEPTION
and here is the documentation that I found for this error on the
Microsoft MSDN web site:
"The INSTRUCTION_COHERENCY_EXCEPTION bug check has a value of
0x00000056.
This bug check appears very infrequently."

A Microsoft TechNet article for Windows 2000 has the following
information about it:
"This is a Windows 2000 Executive character-mode STOP message. It
indicates an inconsistency between pages in the primary and secondary
instruction caches."

It suggests the following procedures:
"If this is the first time you have booted after installing new
hardware, remove the hardware and boot again. Check the Microsoft
Hardware Compatibility List to verify that the hardware and its
drivers are compatible with Windows. For information about the
hardware, contact the supplier." and also "If Windows is loaded and no
new hardware has been installed, reboot with recovery options set to
create a dump file. If the message continues to appear, select the
Last Known Good option when you reboot."

Hope this is of some assistance.

Good luck
