I recently had a trojan virus that infected the
scandisk.exe file in windows\system32 folder. The file
was deleted by the trojan removal software that I used.
Now when I reboot my PC, I get errors saying windows
cannot find this file.
Q1. Can I safely remove the registry entry to get rid of
the errors?
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon"
Shell REG_SZ Explorer.exe C:\Windows\System32\Scandisk.exe
Q2. Where can I find this file, I have searched my start-
up disks, XP Pro CD, and sites on the net but have been
unable to find it. Hell, I thought XP did away with
scandisk and went back the chkdsk,
Thanks for any assistance.
