When I try to open Control Panel\"Add/remove programs", I get the message shown in the subject line of this message posting. When I then get in "Add/remove programs", I cannot uncheck box next to "Message Queuing" in Control Panel\"Add/remove programs"\"Add/remove Windows Components"; same applies to boxes for sub headings under Message Queuing. Also can't put check in any currently unchecked subheading boxes. Please advise how to correct the problem

Kelly,
Thanks for the tip; I'm a bit scared--the fix is for W2000 and I'm running XP pro SP 1--is there anything I can do to cover my tail if the attempt backfires--I don't blindly trust System Restore, especially in these sorts of complex probs. Could you email me please ? I'm also at a loss to understand how a version difference which the fix refers to would arise. Wait to hear from you and thanks again! Peter
