Registry Editor HELP

Can anyone tell me how to re-enable regedit i've tried several ways to
reenable it but it doesnt work, the message "registry editing has been
disabled by your adminstrator" keeps appearing
I'd appreciate anyone that can help me

If you have XP Pro, start>run and type

gpedit.msc

User Configuration>Administrative Templates>System

In the left hand pane find "Prevent Access to registry editing tools".
 
Registry Editing has been disabled by your administrator

Update 1 & 2 before running a scan.
