I used a programme called spybot to get rid of the
annoying pop ups. it might not be the cause but now i
can't get into reg edit and i am not allowed to edit the
registry although i am the administrator. if i try to
run reg edit i get an error"memory access violation in
module kernel 32at 8912:18663549" How can i get back the
registry editing facilities.Possibly spybot switched it
off to prevent access by pop up senders,which is good but
how can i switch it on again if I need to.

Hi Steve, I think you have the Swen virus - either A B or C.

It maybe is a virus, Its not spybot as I use that a lot
and I have not had that problem!
