I am running Sbybot S&D and I came acroos problems on my computer. It says I can delete some of the spyware. The problem is, some of the files are changed registry keys and replace files. Am I allowed to delete these or does this cause problems? Also, can I get rid of the registry keys that the spyware made? Since I'm not possitive what the registry keys do, I'm leaving them alone for the time being. Does Sbybot S&D fix the changed keys? Thank you in advance

Im not familiar wit h the specific program that you have
chosen for spyware protection. You can go ahead and remove
the registry and files that the program is refering to
unless, the program itself is a virus. If its reputable I
would go ahead and trust it.

Just a warning: a lot of the spyware utilities( not the
spyware removers, the actual spyware its self) are being
used by hackers to institute virus's on programs. Some of
them even go as far as modifying Windows files to the point
where the Windows files themselfs are the virus. I know
this sounds tricky. Be sure to backup your program files
regularly. Get a Firewall etc...

Hi,

It depends. Some of these cleaners remove obvious keys such as sndvol32 and
more. You would need to be more familiar with the registry, values and keys
before knowing what to select for deletion. Is best to have someone else
there who knows a bit more or having someone else read the list/file/log for
you. Good luck!
