registring my laptop

hi i have a desk top and a lap top! windows xp is on my
desktop, i loaded my laptop with it also, but my problem
is that i had to register my laptop windows xp within 30
days and i did'nt now i don't know how to do it, it saids
i have to go on line and register, but the hook up for
the telephone jack is different fromm any telephone jack
line. please help me thanks
 
The connector on the laptop may be a LAN connection

Choose the option to activate by phone.
Call the displayed phone number, done in about 5 minutes.

If this is the same licence as your desktop, then you are in violation of
the EULA - just like every version of Windows since at least 3.1, it's one
licence *PER SYSTEM*.

And you don't need to register, it's entirely voluntary.
 
XP can only be activated on one system at a time. If it's already activated
on the desktop, having the right hook up for the laptop will be useless as
XP won't activate on that computer, activation will be rejected.
