If you are selling him the complete system including OS cdroms there is no
need to do anything. Registration is purely voluntary

Unregistering is neither possible nor necessary. Just sell it.

Registration wasn't even necessary in the first place; what is
necessary is activation, but activation ties Windows XP to the
computer, not to a person. Windows will remain activated when you
sell the computer with it.
