regedit crashes

Although AVG antivirus is installed on my computer, regedit suddently
stops after 15-20 sec.
Do you know why ?

It is conceivable that software has been installed on your PC without your
knowledge. If possible, install and run one or both of these utilities,
which will detect that software, and give you the option to vanquish it...
