regedit & backing up.

Help..... I have to edit my registry to get rid of a couple of viruses. Naturally I want to back the registry up first. Problem is I don't have backup utility on the machine & can't find my windows disk. was told I could save with regedit, but that doesn't work iether. What do I do?
 
Have you tried exporting the registry to a file?

What happened to your backup utility? eaten by the virus?
(Accessories > system tools > backup > backup system state )
