The former option will _only_ turn off the HDDs while the latter one will make the system turn off further devices (monitor, network card).

J JD Jan 6, 2005 #3 Thanks for the info. Yesterday while I was playing Spider Solitaire, I heard the hard drive click off, but I was able to continue playing the game. How can this be?
