Refreshing URLs

When I click on an URL such as www.google.com I get the text page that
says refresh or sometimes I click let internet explorer dectect your
settings and it sometimes opens, Can anyone suggest a fix for this? OS
win xp home. Any help appreciated and thanks in advance.

Turn off your popup blocker and see what happens.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean but try changing the settings at:
IE > Tools > Internet Options > General > Settings (Temporary Internet
files),
You'll see 4 options, 'Every visit to the page', 'Every time you start IE',
'Automatically' & 'Never'.
