Refresh Registry / XP

Hi,

I have made some changes to the registry (changed the desktop background)
and I need Windows XP \ the registry to apply these changes. Is there a
command that I can run that will do this?
 
simply restarting the machine should erase the old entries and install the
new ones permanently.

This should do it for you,

rundll32.exe user32.dll,UpdatePerUserSystemParameters

Logging off and logging back in will also accomplish this.
