How can I reformat my C: hard drive and reinstall my
windows xp home addition? The drive is an older 27 gig
and has had tons of kids programs and games installed on
it as well as all kinds of internet downloads. I made a
startup disk but all it gives me is an a: prompt and i
dont know what to do from there ..

Boot the XP CD, chose to install and one option is a format,
clean install. You'll need to set the BIOS to boot the CD
first.

BTW, you posted the question twice, with two names with just
a few minutes without waiting a reasonable few hours for an
answer.

If you get a "C:" prompt type in format C: and it sould
do it from there

Thanks for the help Jim! Sorry about the multiple post

I like the p51 also, however it had a poor climb rate.
With the 109, Spitfire, F4 and F6F clearly superior.

The F104 beats the WWII and later fighters. The F8F was
probably the hottest WWII ear fighter.

The 109 was just a small airplane with a fairly big engine.
I think the Beech Bonanza is about the same size, but the
Beech as about 300 HP (early versions 185 HP) and the ME 109
had 800 HP.

Spitfire had same engine as the P51 Mustang but has short
range, limited armor and only 4 30 caliber guns. The
Mustang had very long range, very high straight line speed,
6 50 cal BMG, lots of cockpit armor and self-sealing fuel
tanks. The only European theater fight that could out dive
the P51 was the P47.

If you boot the floppy, to an a: prompt, you just type
"format C:" But if you are going to install XP, just boot
the CD and run the install, formatting and a clean install
are options.

But some versions had 8 guns, 6 0.303 and 2 0.50
Some also had rockets.

Yes, but that was well after the Battle of Britain and they
had lower performance due to the higher weight.
