Reducing Styles

The Style window will tell me I have a given style in a document N number of
times.
1) How do I find them?
2) How do I remove this style and change into someother existing style?

I have the job of merge many sources of documents and everyone is has used a
different template. I need to reduce the styles and make the document
consistent.
It seems near impossible. I could really use a highly detailed step by
step set of directions.

When it tells you that, it has also selected all the paragraphs in that
style, right?

I use Word 2007. Yes it will select but the document is 200 pages long.
How do I see each one. ? I would need to be able to jump to each one
somehow. Scrolling would be too tedious

Yes I can modify a style but I want to change it to an existing style. The
box given to modify just list properties. I would have to somehow match all
the properties.
For example it has 5 heading 3 styles I want to make them all one! And have
the associate text conform to this.

Once you have all the paragraphs selected, you can just apply a different
style.
