Reduced Sorting Capability In Excel Worksheets

Why would the sorting capability in Excel Worksheets have been reduced?

In the new Beta version there seems to be only one Sort By option offered in
a combo box whereas three were available in individual edit boxes in
previous versions. Surely the change is a step backwards?
 
Hopefully you have since found the Add Level button, which is especially
useful and allows you to get a lot further than 3 levels.

It takes me back to Lotus 123 of yesteryear!!
