Redirecting to overseas pages

i live in Japan and use japanese version of xp. When i click on links from the microsoft home pages it automatically redirects me to the corresponding japanese site. Is there a setting somewhere where i can change this so that i can see the original english site by default

would appreciate any informatio
 
Check to see if you can change your system locale to English (US) - this is
available at Control Panel \ Regional and Language Options.

Try this: go to Internet Explorer - Tools - Internet Options -
General- Languages - Add - LANGUAGE (this setting is important for the
use of Windows Updsate, because it will be shown in the language
configured here) if you put English here it should direct you to the
English language site.
