When I want to view a web page on a local server, I enter http://Elwood in
the address bar. Instead of sending my request to the server Elwood, IE sends
my request top http://www.elwood.com.

I have tried variations such as : http://Elwood/ or http://Elwood/reports
with no luck.

An NSLookup of the name "Elwood" resolves to the local server address.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Map a drive to the main webpage and place a shortcut on your desktop.
i.e. E:\webpages\elwood\reports

Thanks, however the connection is an HTTP connection to the web server on
that machine.
