Just recently when I go to a website with pictures or
icons there is a square box with a red x in place of the
pictures. I have SBC Yahoo DSL using Internet Explorer
6. The problem started with an update to the Yahoo
software. I talked to the service support people for
hours at SBC Internet and no solution worked. I have
reloaded Internet Explorer. I uninstalled the Yahoo
software. Nothing works. All the browser options are
checked to allow pictures and I have rebooted no less than
15 times after trying different changes. I have an old
version of Netscape Navigator and it works fine so I
suspect a problem with Explorer. The homepage displays
everything as it should. Any other site such as CNN.Com
shows only the text and red x's where the pictures should
be. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

This is difficult to fix. I got around the problem by installing "MyIE2" - a
freeware browser that uses the ie6 engine. This fixes the red X problem and
you get a better browser too! A real "win win" option :)

You can downoad MyIE2 from:

http://www.myie2.com

Hope that helps.

Grahame.

Same EXACT issue here, same configuration as far as SBC
Yahoo. I contacted tham and they said it was an OEM
problem.
