red x where picture should be

Running IE 6.0 on WIN 98 - get red x where photo should
be - reinstalled IE 5.0 and everything worked fine - need
to run IE 6.0 though for other programs - IE 6.0 w/ WIN 98
worked fine with dial up service but when I connect with
SBC DSL I get the red x's. help !! thanks
