I'm trying to insert photos into existing pages and they
show up with the red X box, yet when I go to "preview"
there they are. When I attempt to edit the photos, even
an existing one, by right clicking, nothing happens.

What has gone wrong here?

Yes, I saved the page, but did not get the window pop up
that usually comes up when a new graphic is added to a
page.

You must first File | Import the images into your web before inserting on a
page and saving.

Then import the images, and pull them from the Folder List into the page, to
get rid of the errors. OR - start over again and see if you get the pop-up
this time.

The answer to why I suddenly couldn't insert photos as
before is that there was a # sign in the name of the
photo. Renamed the photo and all is well.
