I assume the pictures are jpegs and you are trying to view them in Outlook
or Internet Explorer?

If so, a possible cause is that she is saving the pictures in CMYK colour
format. Ask here to save them in RGB format.

hi Simon

she is simply passing on something sent to her - at her machine, they opened - at my machine asfter she forwards to me, they don't

neither of us know anything about saving in any kind of format (don't even know where to look for that one) - so, i think it must be something else

Hi Simon

neither of us know about that advanced stuff - doubt that is the problem

when she receives the pictures, they open for her in outlook - when she forwrds to me, they don't open???

thanks

Actually, if you look at the HTML properties of the message you will see
there is a link something like below:

<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 color=black face="Times New Roman"><span
style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black;mso-no-proof:yes'><a
href="file:///C:\Documents%20and%20Settings\Helmut\Application%20Data\Microsoft\Signatures\www.albertaprinter.com"><span
style='text-decoration:none;text-underline:none'><img border=0 width=117
height=37 id="_x0000_i1026"
src="file:///C:\Documents%20and%20Settings\USERNAME\My%20Documents\NAMEOFLOGO+text.gif"></span></a><o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

Note; USERNAME is the url to the users profiel dir on the local hard disk
and NAMEOFLOGO could be any GIF filename.

The way around this is to 'Include' the GIF (or whatever it is) into the
email message.

This is a common issue.

Hope it helps.

Hello Richard

Thank you for the psoting.

Whenever she send her troubled email, the item IS embedded in her email -
she does not know how to create and attach, she simply forwards something
someone else sent.

Usually, it is a jpg, but no matter what the picture, you are guaranteed to
get only the red X

This is maddening!
