Lisa

i had just finished printing something and i notice my
color was all pinky, so i took it in to the store to get
a refill cartridge. The guy at the store said there was
something wrong with my printer and he couldn't put in
the new cartridge because the red ink light keeps
flashing. this was new to me, because it certainly
wasn't doing that when i left home. so then he says i
need a new printer. What is going on here? And now that
i am home, i plugged it back in, and the red light won't
stop flashing

please help....thanks

What make and model printer? Have you checked 'error codes' in the printer
manual?

It sounds (from your very brief description of the problem) that at some
point, your magenta ink overflowed and has contaminated the printer. It can
possibly be corrected by changing the print head but these units run usually
from $40 to over $100 depending n the make and model of printer, so it may
not be economically viable when new printers are now so cheap.
