Hello, most probably a very stupid question, but how
comes that once i've deleted an item and sends it to the
recycle bin, on my desktop, i see that it's indeed put in
my recycle bin, but once opened it, there is no detail of
what's in it ? no name, nothing, refering to which items
are put in the bin. Can somebody please explain what's
going on, and what i can do ? thx a lot.

This may be an oversimplification, or not quite right, but
as I undrestand it what you're actually deleting to the
recycle bin is not the file, but an address that points to
where the file actually is on the hard disc. Once you
delete that "address" the file is still located on the
hard disc but the computer sees the space as being
unoccupied and so can overwrite it with new data. The
actual data only ceases to exist when that data, in the
space the computer sees as empty, is overwritten with new
data. So the icon in the recycle bin refers to nothing but
a hexadecimal number that represents it's location and not
the actual data that it represents. Therefore the computer
can't determine what it is.

Hope this helps,
Milt

You're right "Unknown",
I should have said that by right clicking you can
choose "Properties" and see size and name but you can't
open it and see contents. I thought that's what "IVO" was
asking.

Thanks for correction,
Milt
