Recycle Bin

I have Windows XP Home Edition 2002 Service Pack 1
running on my computer, and Microsoft have buggered it up
somehow with their automatic updates!
When deleting files, they don't go to the recycle bin and
the disk space is not freed up unless I turn the recycle
bin off!
Has anyone else had this problem?
 
Verify these settings:

On the desktop, right click Recycle Bin | Properties |
Uncheck: Do not move files to the Recycle Bin |
Check: Display delete confirmation dialog
Apply | OK

Do you have Norton Utilities installed?

If you do, then check the Norton Protected Recycle Bin
properties.

And if you do have Norton Utilities installed, and toggling the
Norton Protected Recycle Bin properties does not solve the
problem then perhaps you can find an answer if you search
the Symantec Support Center Knowledge Base using your
exact product name and "Norton Protected Recycle Bin".

Base using Norton Utilities for Norton SystemWorks 2004
as the product, and Norton Protected Recycle Bin as an
