Recycle Bin

I have created a share on a 2000 server and mapped my H
drive to that share and then made the "My Documents"
properties point to that H drive. When I delete files from
my documents now it dosnt appear in the recycle bin on
either the local PC or in the Recycle folder on the
server. What can I do to make sure that if users delete
files stored on the server in this way they can recover
lost files. If I do backups each night then it dosnt
protect the user from deleting a files by mistake during
the corse of a working day.

When you delete files over de network (i.e. on a shared folder) they never
go to the recycled bin, only localy deleted files go to the recycled bin.
You could use software from other vendors to do this, but they inherit a
security risk.

Install 3rd party "Recycle Bin" software on the server for this purpose.
