For the last couple of weeks, when I try to empty the
recycle bin I get this message: "Cannot remove folder:
Macromedia. The directory is not empty." I don't recall
attempting to delete any of my Macromedia folders, so I
don't know why it is throwing this error. It doesn't
show up when I open the recycle bin. Is there a way to
reset things so that error goes away?

You could try going to internet options /temporary
internet files / settings / view objects right click
remove macromedia, close, empty recycle bin, run disc
cleanup. Then go back to macromedia and reinstall flash or
shockwave. Hope this helps. Just a suggestion.
