Recycle bin icon missing

I have XP home edition and have lost my icon for the recycle bin. I have
tried remedies from previous posts but haven't had any luck. Any ideas other
than right clicking the internet explorer for a repair or getting the TI
tweak from Microsoft?

Thank you so much for your responses to my post. When I got to work after
making the post a co-worker suggested I right click on the desktop, choose
arrange icons then check show desktop icons. I did this and the recycle bin
was there.
