recv's mail in outlook express but has outlook setup for mail

I was using outlook express now after updating to 2003
switched to outlook for mail. System uses outlook fine in
all ways except for incoming mail still goes to outlook
express. Cannot find any references in any setup for
express.

Open Internet Options in your Control Panel. Select Microsoft Office Outlook
for your E-mail program on the Programs tab.

Also you can put "C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /newsonly on
the target line of your Outlook Express desktop shortcut. It changes Outlook
Express to Outlook Newsreader.

Thanks for the suggestion but it did not solve my
problem. I already had outlook in the email prgrogram
tab as you suggested. When I changed the properties for
express it stopped the mail going to it but I did not
receive any mail in outlook. I had to remove "newsonly"
from the express shortcut and then received my test
messages in express.

1) Make sure Outlook is listed as your default mail program here: Control
Panel | Internet Options | Programs tab.

2) Remove all mail accounts from Outlook Express (unless you can't bear to
part with them for some reason).

3) Disable automatic checking for new mail in OE.

4) Only open OE if you're going to use it for newsreading (Outlook doesn't
have its own newsreader, it uses OE for that), and either open the
newsreader through Outlook (View | Go To | News) or open OE with the
/newsonly switch. This way, all mail functions in OE are disabled anyway,
so there's no chance of using them by mistake.

It now works correctly. I remove the oe mail account and
it appears it was intercepting the mail be outlook.
