I'm trying to put 6.666666666666666666666666666666666 as 6.6 (with a line above the .6 to show that it's recurring). Any idea how to put that 6 with the line over it in Word? I looked in the symbols MathA and MathB, but couldn't fine it. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks.

Hi Wendy

Here are two ways:

1. Use the Equation Editor. Go to Insert > Object and select "Microsoft
Equation 3.0" from the list. (If it isn't there, you need to go through the
Windows Add/Remove Programs dialog, click Change on the Office item, and
install Equation Editor.) In the editor, type the 6.6 and then go to the
toolbar, click the third button in the top row (Embellishments), and click
the first button in the fourth row (the overbar). Click outside the equation
box to exit the editor.

2. Type the 6. and then press Ctrl+F9 to insert a pair of field braces.
Inside the braces, type
eq \o(6,¯)
To get the overbar, hold down the Alt key while you type 0175 on the number
pad (with NumLock turned on). Then press the F9 key to update the field, or
right-click the field and select Update Fields.

In either case, if you plan to use this repeatedly, make an AutoText entry
of it so you don't have to go through all the steps each time.
