I have a running tab from January of financial information
in Excel. I accessed the file, saved to C: drive, and
closed. Almost immediately I had to re-open the file at
which point it was empty. Anyone know how to recover this
prior to the last close? I would think there is a way to
change the "date last saved" field and have it revert back
to, say, last week's updates. Any help is greatly
appreciated.

When you say saved to the C:Drive, does that mean you opened it from somewhere
else and had to do a save as to put it in a different place (Hopefully so)?? If
so then get back there and look for that version of the file as it should still
hopefully be there.

No you cannot just change the last saved date.

Unfortunately, it was my only copy. Nice, eh? So, I can
kiss the file goodbye and start recreating it?
Thanks for the info.

As far as I know, an Excel file is not built as "the original plus the history of later
changes" -it's just the real content here and now and nothing else. So basically ...yes.
