Hi,

I have a "Windows Could Not Start up due to missing or corrupt file
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM" error and when I try to repair XP with the
recovery console it does not ask for a password. This means I have not
access to files so I am dead in the water. Any ideas around this or am I
facing a complete reinstall?

Thanks

Thanks for the post. I am trying to follow the steps in your first link
however I do not have admin access due to the fact that the windows console
does not prompt me for a password.

Thanks
