My computer was a little sluggish, so cleaned up my
computer. after defraging, I went to "free up space" on
hard drives. I wanted to remove some of my windows
components. I wanted to delete internet games, so I
checked the box to delete. Instead it deleted just about
every other little thing like my calculator, paint, and
games that came with the computer instead of what I
wanted. The biggest problem is that happened last week
and I didn't notice. since then I have installed service
pack 2, WMP 10, a couple of other games, and recovered
from some nasty adware and viruses. If I system restore,
then I have to do that all over again.
It would be great if there was some other way to get them
back.

If "them" means Windows components: Have your Windows XP CD handy and go to
Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components.
