Recovery deleted mails

I have accidently deleted emails from the deleted items
folder that i wished to keep, is there any way of
retrieving these items?
 
Pst or Exchange? Do you make back-ups?

In case you are using Exchange you could try;
Tools-> Recover Deleted Items
