I just did an XP Home reinstall on a new harddrive. It's
in a Gateway that i have had since new. After downloading
all of the windows updates i got a corrupted file. I need
to go in the recovery console to fix the file. The
computer will not boot up even in safe mode. Recovery asks
me for the admin. password which i don't think i've ever
had one. This is the XP disc that came with the computer
on a brand new C drive. What could the password be? Is
it the key number from the factory? Thanks
