I have a Blue screen of death that says registry error
that won't allow me to get into the system at all. I
tried booting from the XP disk to enter the recovery
console, but for some reason it won't accept the Admin
password that I have always been using.

I usually log in with my own name, and my account is
listed as an administrator. is there some other default
administrator account that I have to use, or a default
password that came with it?

It is looking for the password to the account named "Administrator" - if you
have XP home, normally just hitting enter will logon (no password), if its
XP Pro, one would have been entered during setup.

ok, I tried that, and hitting enter does no good.
I also used ntpassreset, and it found no password for the
administrator account. So basically, there is no
password, and the recovery console will not accept the
carraige return.

Any other options? I tried downloading the latest setup
floppys from microsoft, but still no luck.
