Dear Expert

I am in need of a recovery CD for my Windows XP laptop. Is this something
that can be downloaded?

Nope. Recovery CDs are always OEM with the target to restore the system
status when purchased. You may want to contact your computer's vendor.

If by a "recovery CD," you mean a CD that restores your computer to
factory-delivered condition, no.

Such a CD is not a Microsoft CD, but one created by your particular
OEM for use with your particular computer. If your computer didn't
come with one, you should contact your vendor to see if they can
provide one.

Since you did not create one when you were prompted to, you will most likely
have to buy it now from the manufacturer. Most laptops ship with a hidden
partition and a method tp restore the laptop to a "factory fresh" state; the
method of doing this will vary by make and model.
